TGIF!!!! While I'm still waiting to get the last two Oikos flavors I plan to review (Strawberry and Blueberry are elusive in these parts), I wanted to give you my review of the Larabar flavors I was finally able to try.
Cherry Pie
This was fantastic. I cannot say enough. The flavor is truly that of cherry pie. Delish! Which is actually strange since I don't actually like cherry pie. These bars, however, are so fresh tasting and simple. Sweet, but not overly sweet. It's like dessert without the guilt. I give them a Mrs. Myers Two Thumbs UP!
Apple Pie
This was slightly less fantastic. Still good. The apple taste was vibrant, but the flavors didn't blend together so well, and I wasn't as impressed with the texture. It seemed crumbly compared to the Cherry Pie flavor, which was way too moist to crumble. In a pinch, I might buy it again. It gets A Half Thumb.
Peanut Butter Cookie
I saved this bar to last because I thought for sure it would be the bombdiggity. And, it wasn't. Not at all. For one thing, I consider myself a peanut butter cookie expert, and this did not harken memories of Christmas times spent rolling balls of peanut buttery goodness for my mom to bake. Instead, it was just... okay. Not bad, but not good. I won't buy it again. No Thumbs. (No Thumbs down, but no thumbs up.)
This morning I've felt lazy. Ryan and I have both had funky sleep issues this week. Mine may be related to his, I'm guessing. I had a nice, warm comforting bowl of oatmeal w/PB&J for breakfast.
Lunch will be leftover broccoli-kidney bean salad from last night's Vegetarian Dinner Victory. Dinner tonight is up in the air. Ryan is going to hang out with friends, and I'm probably cleaning and writing. I love an evening with an empty house. :) I might even make up some of SnackFace's cheetahs. Yum!
Talk at ya latas,

New Week, New Day
ADDENDUM:
I meant to direct you guys to Mandy's blog, where she posted one of my comments on the topic of comfort (food and fitness - related). Check it out. Thanks!
=========================
Good morning. I'm hoping you've all recovered from your holiday weekend and are managing to get your head wrapped around this Monday morning (I'm trying).
Yesterday was really bad food-wise for me. Today, however, is a new day (I love how that works). This morning, I started off light.
Kashi and Total Blueberry Pomegranate Cereals w/blackberries and a spoon of AB. Yum!
Mid-morning, I had a few almonds (very few) and an apple pie Larabar. Didn't make it to the gym this morning. I actually slept right through my alarm and woke up a half an hour late. As soon as I woke up, I wanted to dive right back to sleep. I had forgotten over night how bad my pain is (still - since Saturday morning!!!). I have circuit today in class. That may have to be enough workout for today because I can still just barely walk.
Today is really busy. I work until 4pm in the office (I really hate that). Then, I have school and more work to do tonight. I'm thinking chili dogs for dinner. I've been craving them. I bought turkey franks and a can of veggie chili yesterday at the store. Throw in some whole-grain buns and a veggie on the side and we'll be good to go. A busy day requires a quick dinner. :)
I'm dying right now for starbucks, but I'm really trying to committ myself to saving money rather than spending a fortune on my decaf coffee habit. It really is crazy to spend $4 a day on a coffee, ya know?
Hoping you are all having a beautiful day. Any plans for your Monday?
xoxo

I Heart Cherry Pie Larabars
Oh my word! Look what I found at my grocery store today!
For my afternoon snack, I had to have one: cherry pie. OMG, it was heaven. Seriously, it was like eating dessert. Do you know what my favorite part about it was?
Ingredients: Dates, Almonds, Unsweetened Cherries
Awesome! It has the very distinct taste of cherry pie. Not sure how they do this w/out added sugar, but its fantastic and clean tasting. It's also filling, despite the fact these bars are small. I was a little leery of them as they seemed like unneccessary calories, but they are well worth it due to taste factor alone.
Tonight is a really nice, mild night. The heat of the day burned off early and I've really enjoyed the breeze coming through the windows. I finally finished my book and will be moving on to the next. That's always an exciting prospect to me! :)
We spent the day after our run just hanging out and chillin. I went to the grocery store, but that's it. The roommate's kids were here today (they're like our extended family lol), so that always makes for a little more exciting household. I took some pictures of D playing around. No pictures of A today. My favorite picture of D was of him watching billards on tv. He actually clapped when they did well. It was hilarious. What 3 year old watches billards? YAWN!
Well, it must have worn him out because he literally passed out on hubby's lap. (He's not playing here. He's actually knocked out cold.)
Tonight, Ryan went over to hang out with his friends, who were having game night. As always, I begged out. I'm ridiciulously sore, yes, but I'm also a major homebody. Especially on a Sunday night, ya know?
Supper was easy. I've kinda had an issue with binge/grazing today, so I needed to go light.
Vanilla Greek Yogurt w/Blackberries and a new Total Blueberry-Pomegranate Cereal, with four broiled tomatoes with a small piece of pepperjack on each. Interesting dinner, I know. It did the job, though.
Ok, so I'm going to go figure out what book is next on my agenda (not that I actually have an agenda... I'm so not that organized.). Haven't even ordered this month's book club book. If its a book I really think I'll enjoy, I buy it at the bookstore. If it looks kinda sucky (like this month's pick), then I go the Amazon route. I'm not spending my hard-earned cash on a book I don't even think I'll like!!!
