Write

You must stay drunk on writing so reality cannot destroy you. ~Ray Bradbury

JMyers Inc. is the name of my company, which is really a fancy way of saying I'm a freelance writer. I have a nine-year background in marketing, public relations, and communications. I've absolutely loved the written word since I was just a little girl.

I write everything... blogs, lists, poetry, fiction, nonfiction, marketing "stuff"........ I am honestly in love with words. I fell in love with reading when I was just 8 years old, and the rest was history.

How does that tie into food?

It doesn't really. But, as they say, for every action, there's an equal and opposite reaction... I was a fat girl, and that deeply affected my social life. I didn't date in high school, or college, really. But, what I did do was read.

Books were my social life, my Saturday night, and my friends. Still today, I would rather curl up and read a book than just about anything else. This is the last component of my blog, and perhaps, in the food blog world, it is the least interesting. But, believe me, the Write of Eat Move Write defines me as much if not more than the others.

In fact, I am currently writing a book about my weight loss. It's challenging, complicated, and beautiful to pen the story of your life. I absolutely love being a writer, and I have no idea how I managed to stumbled into doing what I love at such a young age. But, I promise you, I have grabbed the reigns tight, and I'll be hanging on to this writing beast for the long haul. Stay tuned.

  1. Wow. Great post. I love to write as well and wish I could do it full-time. I would love to devote time to just writing a book...but have hardly any with work full-time and courses and other commitments...I also feel that it's just a dream - it's near impossible to get a publisher or agent to take you seriously these days or wary of scams, etc...any advice? Great blog girl :)

  2. I love that you're following your dreams! I would love to make enoug money from writing to pursue that full-time but for now, I just have a couple freelance writing gigs and will probably have to get a full-time job this spring.

Congratulations on everything you've accomplished. You are so inspiring.

  4. Thank you for sharing your journey with us :)

I'm wondering a couple of things....is it easier for you to lose 20 lbs post surgery than it was pre surgery? If so, why is that in your opinion?
