Yet again this morning I was derailed from the gym thanks to the contant rain we've been having. It's not exactly a fun concept to walk 1.5 miles home from the gym in an absolute downpour. No thanks.
I'll have to go with the husband tonight when he gets home from work, which I hate. Working out is for mornings, as far as I'm concerned. Even when I had to be at work at 8am in another part of the city, I still preferred getting up and going to the gym pre-work. At 17, if you'd told me I'd be getting up someday at 5am to go to the gym, I would have thought you were loooooony.
I got an early start on work this morning since there was no gym happening. I had a pretty plain breakfast of green tea and an ezekiel muffin with natural crunchy peanut butter.
Excellent breakfast. I love how these muffins keep me going all morning.
And... on to Eat Move Write's Very First Giveaway!!! I've been thinking about doing one for a while, but I wanted to wait until I saw the right giveaway.
As you know, last night I went shopping at the newly opened Vine Ripe Market here in La Mesa. It was fabulous and such. I knew instantly that I wanted to get something to share with my EMW readers. This place is magical (with cheap produce and all), and I wanted to pass on the awesomeness.
Well, you all know how food bloggers love love love bars, right? Well, I found this bar.
It's a fig bar with peanuts. I don't know about you, but I seriously LOVE figs. (Mind you, this is a Mediterranean Market, so it won't be a brand you recognize.) So, I bought a couple to taste test.
I really liked these bars. I ate half of it because it was my post-dinner dessert last night. It was like a Larabar and Kind bar in one. Very different and clean tasting. The package has the word "Natural" on it in several different languages, and the ingredients are listed in like 4 or 5 languages. I just thought these were so cool.
So... I bought YOU two of them. One is fig. The other is apricot.
