Last night, I made a really weird pasta dish. It started out pretty normal. I was using soy chorizo, whole wheat rotini, some orange sweet peppers, and a can of tomato-basil sauce. Ryan was really bummed I wasn't using meat. Normally, he's cool with it, but for some reason, he really wanted meat. So, instead, it became a breakfast sausage pasta dish.
Ryan's Breakfast Sausage Pasta
(I'm not claiming this)
Ingredients
8 Breakfast Turkey Sausage Links, cut up in pieces
1 roll of soy-rizo
1 can of tomato-basil sauce
3 mini orange peppers, chopped
1 roma tomato, chopped
1 box whole wheat rotini pasta
Directions
Boil the pasta per directions. Brown the soy-rizo and orange peppers in a skillet. (I don't use oil for this.) Add in chopped breakfast sausage. When the pepper are slightly browned, lower heat and add in sauce. Throw tomatoes in about 2 minutes before serving.
Serve with a green salad.
I won't lie. This tasted fantastic, but certainly not your typical healthy blogger fare. Eh. Stuff happens. :p
