Good Morning Beautifuls!
This morning, I was finally able to get back into my routine. I only hit the snooze button like twice, which meant I was up and out of bed by 5am. I had a quick banana nut muffin to provide me with a little sustenance to work out on. Unfortunately my brain hadn't yet kicked on, so I forgot to take a picture until I'd eaten it. But here's where it was sitting.
I did 45 at the gym, and afterwards I came home and made a warm bowl of oatmeal with a spoonful of natural peanut butter and another of low-sugar grape jelly.
I really wasn't feeling it. It was just food to me this morning. We're out of my normal breakfast fruits, since I had packed raspberries to bring as my afternoon snack today and we've been out of bananas since I made the muffins. I'm feeling a little blah about oatmeal lately. I need to spice it up.
Any suggestions? How do you like your oatmeal?
Tonight, the Hubby is cooking me dinner!!! He hinted at pork chops and whipped sweet potatoes. Sounds delicious, but I'm even more thrilled at the idea of not having kitchen duties tonight. I need to catch up on my reading before my book club meeting tomorrow! Stay tuned for tonight's installment of Hubby in the Kitchen.

I'm sure you saw my recent post on my fav oatmeal: walnuts, dates, coconut. I also like banana and almond butter, blueberries and almonds, PB and chocolate chips. Yum!
ReplyDeleteKath has a whole page of oatmeal ideas.

Make pancakes with the oats!
ReplyDeleteIn a blender, blend up 1 egg, 1/3 cup oats, 1/3 cup cottage cheese, cinnamon, 1/4 tsp baking powder and any sweetener you desire. Process til smooth and cook like pancakes. Yum!
I like to think of oatmeal as a blank canvas, just waiting to be splashed with color and flavors. :)
ReplyDeleteBananas and pb of course are always a favorite, but I also enjoy this lovely concoction:
Throw the oats, apple, cinnamon, nutmeg, flax, and a handful of raisins into the boiling liquid (preferrably lowfat milk.) Top with a bit of coconut and walnuts. Mmmmm...:)
